Being as I am not much of an expert, I will leave some fatuous blather for others, and try to keep this part sweet and short.

Simply put, art is in the eye of the beholder. It is not so much what is seen, or heard, but what is felt in the presence of art that makes it art, and not a doodle or a tune.

In this case when an image speaks to you, you can be assured its intellectual expression is most certainly the product of a substantial fermentation in the creator's mind. Real art, great art does not just happen, and all the hype in the world will not make it happen.

Even for the most gifted, it takes some time and normally a lot of hard work for their gifts to be discovered and developed. It takes time to think, to learn and to practice. This has a cost that is not often recouped along the way.

Then there is the cost of marketing. When only about five percent of the world is serious about buying, it can cost a lot of money to reach an appropriate audience.

As a purchaser, the way I see it, some art makes for a rock solid investment. It is the kind of art that most of us will be very lucky to see let alone own. There is some art, which is fashion. Its value turns on hype and hysteria. And then there is art that is passion. It is the kind that pleases its audience regardless of hype, price, or any other variable.

As a seller of art, I would like to think people are buying my work because it moves them; not because they think I am desperate, under-priced or about to drop dead. The latter however appealing that may be, it is speculation, that as far as I know is a bit premature.

We all have a right to earn a living from our labor. Do I think I am going to get rich? No, but all things are possible. Are buyers going to get rich? I hope so.
